Logic of such a name is completely understood only when you step inside this attractive lilac building, which has the provincial European style, and have a look around out of its window. You won`t see the exact copy of one of the districts of the most liberal city of the Old World, but it`s a fact that such scenery could exist there. After a hot breakfast by the fireplace you can stay for a while in a cafe situated in the attic, and admire picturesque bend of Karpovka river, its embankment and bridges and then compare all this with views of Amsterdam that can be seen on the walls of the cafe. Now, do you understand?
The tribute to the country of tulips is also played out in the interiors. The ussual neutral colors are combined with the traditional Dutch orange color which is made a little softer for the hotel standard`s sake and has a peachy tint. Plus, of course, the flowers are present, - as a pattern on the bedspreads. Neat hexagonal arc separates anteroom from the main room, which is always medium-sized (it`s Amsterdam, not New York, after all), functional and very cosy.
Colors of Dutch football team prevail in homelike narrow corridors. The walls are stylized in imitation of large bricks and the light of oblong wall lamps decorated with the sign of sun adds even more orange warmth to the environment.
«Amsterdam» is a democratic hotel in all respects. The only difference between standard and economy rooms is that there is a shower cubicle in the bathroom instead of an ordinary curtain: if there is inequality between people, it should exist only in minor aspects, especially since there is floor heating in all rooms.
